Welcome to Dar es Salaam City “A major city and commercial port”, relax and get ready for the best of southern Tanzania in the next few hours.
After a good night’s rest, wake up early in the morning for an early breakfast, day two holds tones of adventures for you. Breakfast is followed by a drive to Mikumi National Park. Arrive at the Park in time for lunch, then enjoy your meal before proceeding with afternoon game drive until evening. If you are lucky enough you will see several animals including Lions, Elands, Hartebeests, Buffalos, Wildebeests, Giraffes, Zebras and Elephants. Wild dogs can be seen as well.
After game drives your guide will take you to a Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Enjoy an early breakfast followed by a drive to Ruaha National Park, where you get to explore en route attractions to the second largest National Park in Tanzania. Arrive safely in the park?You get to enjoy your lunch in one of the largest parks in Africa, followed by afternoon game drives.
Ruaha is known to be one of the more natural parks with unspoiled nature. You may see animals including elephants, zebras, lions, giraffes, hunting dogs, ostriches, greater and lesser kudus, grants gazelles, striped hyenas, sable and roan antelopes, crocodiles, and hippos.
After the game drive, your guide will take you back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, you depart for a walking safari.you will be accompanied by an experienced guide, who will lead and give lectures on the surrounding nature of Ruaha. Here you will have a chance to explore this wide African bush to the fullest.This includes viewing animals and natural plants. After the walking tour, you will get back for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive.
After the afternoon game drive, your guide will take you back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
On day 5 you get to explore the Ruaha National Park. Early in the morning after a healthy breakfast, you get to go for a full-day game drive. The exciting great Ruaha River hosts large numbers of hippo and crocodile.This river’s all year-round water supply attracts animals such as waterbucks, Impalas, Giraffes, Warthogs, Elands, Grants Gazelles, Zebras and Elephants, as well as predators including lions, leopards, Cheetahs, and hunting dogs. Grant’s gazelle, ostriches, and cheetahs may be seen on the plains.
After the game drive your guide will take you back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 starts with an enjoyable early breakfast followed by a drive to Morogoro Town via Ismila Stone Age Site. It is from this place that one of the richest collections of Stone Age tools including hammerstones, axeheads, Flints, and Scrapers were discovered. Even if you don’t find archeology particularly alluring, Ismila is still well worth a visit, it has a very scenic gully, which contains several sandstone pillars, carved out by an extinct river.
Then you will proceed with the journey to Morogoro for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, you get to commence your journey to Nyerere National Park.This is the first largest National Park in Tanzania previously known as “Selous game reserve”. You will probably arrive in the afternoon and take your lunch before commencing with explorations.
After a lunch break, you will go for a boat safari in the Rufiji River, with a high chance to see the great view of hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. In the evening your guide will drive back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
On day 8 departure for a walking tour commences immediately after breakfast, this happens to be one of the most exciting experiences in Nyerere National park. During the walk, you will be accompanied by a well-trained armed ranger who also serves as a guide and gives you all the necessary information about the surrounding environment and nature. In the afternoon, you will get back for a lunch break, followed by afternoon game drives. The park was one of the largest and richest wildlife reserves in Africa, hence during the game drive, there will definitely be lots of entertaining encounters after which your guide will take you back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight
The morning on day 9, you get breakfast after which you will go for a full-day game drive around the Rufiji River. The river features a concentration of hippos and crocodiles, many animals come to drink water in the river including Waterbuck, Giraffes, Zebras, Rhinos, Antelopes, hyenas, African wolves, Lions, Cheetahs, and herds of Elephantsjust to mention a few. By midday you will have your lunch before proceeding with an afternoon game drive. In the evening your guide will drive back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
On day 10, enjoy your healthy breakfast as it is followed by a 5 hours’ drive to Dar es Salaam. Congratulations! You just successfully completed the best of Tanzania’s Southern experience. Today you bid farewell to this amazing destination that has been you home for 10 days, depending on your departure flight schedule, you may opt to relax or do an excursion within the city before being escorted to the Airport for your flight back home.
