From December to March, the herds of wildebeest spread over the short grass of the Serengeti Plains. The Southern grassy Plains of Serengeti are very nutritious, hence supporting the existence of the herds during the calving season. This 6-day program of the wildebeest calving season aims to create a memorable experience for a visit to the most important destinations for the Wildebeest Calving season just to make sure that you get the most valuable memories.
This special tour during migration will take you to the most spectacular areas in northern Tanzania where you will visit Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, southern plains of Serengeti (Ndutu Area). The combination of routes are specially selected to make your Tanzanian trip the best ever.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Meet your Tanepic Safaris & Adventure representative at Kilimanjaro International airport for greetings and welcoming procedures, followed by a drive to the hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight. Welcome to the city of tourists, enjoy your great night at a home far from home and get ready for the wildebeest Calving season program in the next few hours.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Make a better day! Have sumptuous breakfast in the morning followed by a drive to Tarangire National Park for a game chase. The park is well known for its majestic long-living Baobab trees, large herds of elephants, and impressive scenery of the Tarangire River. A successful 2 hours drive will lead you to the Park ready to begin the game drive.

During the game drive, you might be lucky see many animals including zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, baboons, impalas, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and many more.

In the evening your guide will drive you to a Lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

After your early breakfast, it is the day of experiencing one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater landscapes are incredible, being over 600 meters deep on the crater floor you are likely to encounter the globally endangered and rare remaining black Rhinos. The crater also hosts many animals including herds of Buffaloes, Zebras, Gazelles, and Birds species like Ostriches, Flamingos, and more.

You will have your lunch at one of the spectacular picnic sites on the planet followed by a drive to the Southern Plains of Serengeti in the Ndutu Area for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 & 5: Ndutu Area (The Calving grounds)

Explore 2 days game drive on the Serengeti Southern plains in Ndutu Area. The area is located in Ngorongoro Conservation and is the best grounds for Calving Season from December to March. The land of the area is very fertile hence producing grasses with enough nutrients to feed the herds. The presence of shorter grasses gives the best sight for the herds to see the predators. If you are lucky you may witness the big games from predators like Lions, Cheetahs, Hyenas, and Leopards out on the endless plain.

The second day after the game drive you will drive to a Lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight

Day 6: Karatu to Arusha (Departure Day)

Congratulations on completing this circuit with the best memories.Today is an awesome day to say goodbye to all service providers who put in their best to attend to your daily needs. After breakfast you will drive to Arusha town, then depending on your departure flight schedule, you might have a chance to explore a lot of en-route attractions before getting to the city, where later you will be escorted to the Airport.
